Whilst I'm still writing at full stream ahead still writing my notes from my A4 green note book, I've decided to add and show the notes of ideas, thoughts and brief notes to try and bring my story to life.
The Olympic Affair

Am I happy coming to Munich, I suppose yeah. I mean I'm representing my country on the world stage in the Olympics is quite an honour - I know I don't sound to enthusiastic - It's just alot to take in the country's and all. How big is he down there oh - he's big alright, he well equipped. Honestly I'm already homesick, I love the USA and to be honest I have no love of Europe or Germany or the communists.
I love basketball, I'm the captain of my team and so the coach has put alot of faith in me. We have won the last 6 medals golds so were expected to win and so there's alot of pressure on me, the team and the coach, because of my age and lack of experience.
I was not the head basketball player even though I was the youngest on the sub bench for the 1st half game until I helped beat the Cubans in the second quartre giving me the chance for the next team line up - there's a huge pressure for all of us to perform to the best of our ability.
At training I'm in a room with my teammate Tom Robinson, he's the shooter. Zac Collins - what the fuck was that? It wasn't my fault John was meant to catch the pass - well it was so why the fuck didn't he - I don't know. Ask John - John? Seriously Zac the match is tomorrow you can't see her if coach finds out he will be pissed. It's an early start - think of the team and our fucking honour is on the line so stop thinking about your dick. It's not like that - honestly dude you seem desperate.

they entwine fingers and she bursts into tears and leans on his shoulder crying shhhh, its ok hey hold each other and he comforts her the icey steel frint she alwys had melts away behind the shield is a scared young girl, abused by the state from a young age to go through her life, her life was gynmanstics the love and passion has long been gone, empty - she was doing gymnastics like work - she loathed it but its all she knew. she couldnt just give up - not on her family her father and the ussr that invested so much time and enegy into her - if she gabe up gymnastics now she would suffer the wrath of the full force of the soviet state, she had no choice but to do the job she was groomed for to win gold at the olympics her whole life had been focused to this point to win gold for the ussr, to make her and her countyr proud father and family proud - she has done her bit like grandfather, father and now she has for the service of the state to fight the enemies in a different way not by force but by capturing audiences hearts around the globe not by war but by peaceful means to display beauty her elegance grace like amagival white swan - scthiliskis ballet, - her love was the sea loke her fathers .

After the first game they go out and celebrate and see Marina.
Marina is already seeing her controlling gymnast boyfriend - douch alert - i called but you didn't answer where were you. Im busy look, we have the KGB crawling all over us - we need to find time together, look its over - what part of over don't you get - Oh I get it alright Carl Richter, head gymnast male or the USSR basketball captain.
After winning the match the USSR athletes were very, very cosy with one another open and very liberate sexually which was different to us - vodka flowed and champagne poured the soviet people were nice people it was just the system they were trapped with.

i love my country and my state stars and stripes, the banner, the cheerleaders, my first time with my high school sweetheart who broke my heart refused to see after won a cia scholarship to oklahoma.
first girl prom night with the head cheerleader not just my looks but my height 6ft 2 not overtall but enough to gain the attention of alot of girls. there was no reason not to think of ant thing else ive had my fill and going , just found out my best friend at basketball was cheating with my girlfriend at highschool punched him dead in the face, no best freinds for me as we grew up togather and me him and her, he was sleeping with her behind my back, didnt help she was the daughter of the paster and my father and the paster were good friends, best friends father was farmer? office worker? iron worker?
going to europe and im curious of the european girls over there ive heard the munich girls are alot of fun and the grettiest in germany - result - girlfriend back home its on and off our relationship i mean i didnt dedicate myself to her in any way, after finding out about my best friend at home moving to college i decide to keep my options open and not wear my heart on my sleeve - i was out to play basketball my first love and everything after that was just fun, pleasurable and a bonus an extea workout - one night stands that eant nothing to me, i was out exploring and college was becoming interesting place 1970 -n 1972 i was 18 - 20 sexual libertion and free love, happy hippie shit, drugs lsd, and new poltical and love radical music with a poltical message, new civil right movement. - pastor is his father, not farmer father. small town talk about keeping it in the friends network and family - close to incest.

My sister and bothers were supportive of me but not my father, my mother went along with it. My mother accepted my father for who he was, he wasn't abusive from what I've seen but something missing in the marriage the last time we all met. They were still, my parents acting nice, it well but something was awry somewhere, there was a tension. What was it?

We won 77 games straight with no loses, - strategies on the court to lead my team to victory was a pleasure and the greatest thrill of my life me, my best friend, sleeping girlfriend behind my back. They asked me - did i want to go to Europe at olympics to represent my country - I've never planned to go to Europe basketball mainly played in the us - that is where my future lies, lies and lies - I've had no place go to Europe, do I or don't I go?
others said to represent us in the USA in the world was the greatest service alongside serving us military, since i missed the draft to Vietnam due college scholarship my father wasn't happy as my elder brother went off to fight the communists as he put it - Viet-Cong.
I had a strange feeling peculiar one that out of the safety of us out of my comfort zone that something peculiar and out the ordinary was going to happen. Oh, it's just nerves travelling to a different continent.
I hate travelling by plane, I get air sick and coach I just get travel sick. I prefer to drive my own Mustang around Oklahoma after doing Europe I plan some stage in my life to travel Route 66 East to wast and cross the who country from California to New York in my beloved Mustang, basketball first, Mustang second, women last.
I drive a car - what? Said Marina, you drive? Yeah. Do you? No were not allowed cars. Who taught you English my grandmother and father, my father likes your - spy thriller James Bond.
Dad likes English, likes music and freedom people have compare to his harsh order lifestyle, loves his country the Ukraine and Odessa for Soviet Union life and work but heart of a liberal and the mind of a military man. Flying airplanes, 3 musicians died. In the back of your mind hear these sensational stories on the front page news. Attention football team dies in a crash, or musicians, celebrity's dying in a crash. Buddy Holly and Man United.
I get travel sick there i admit it. try i sleep when traveling and need to listen to music - how??? Didn't have i-pods back then so how? The roving of the bus the humming of the plane pulse vibrates through and feel the subtle vibrations hum over your skin and through my body.
Overtime make me giddy and nasuase - how can you make a superstar 6ft 2 shooter, Tommy Gun, the machine be a weak and queasy flake? Doubts and insecurities, sure I have them who doesn't. Let me tell you of some.
Do you believe in destiny, a faith in God. I did once, but now i'm not so sure.

For our training we had watch the films of olympics in the past from 1936 Nazis Germany, the first USA won the basketball event, Mexico 1968, Tokyo 1964. Looking at the passes - going through the strengths and weaknesses of opponents especially our main rivals the USSR.
This could be my only appearance on the olympic team for this year so I had to make it count.

smash out those bad habits that build up as a child
When as growing with a sport we pick up bad habits, the holds are incorrect, posture, years of pratise those bad habits become entrenched into old habits which are difficult to dislodge and have to be anaylsed, mentored and corrected.
In the summer of my high-school years I restructured the mechanical foundation of my shot, the stance, mechanism and release with my coaches help.
When I was in practise every time I played a shot reverting back to my old habit , the coach wanted me to give him 100 push-ups and 50 suicides( endless running backwarsd and forwards, backwards and forwards.

my blonde mop hair, hippie look (no mostache) and a rebel with the red hairband - inspiration was mark spitz. Coach didnt like it - David said the red hair band was his good luck charm and never played a game without it.
Hairband goes missing and this spookes David - who stole my headband the bastards. the headband - what does it mean, I havnt washed it for 4 years now!!! that is grouse and it attracts the flies I bet!!! It’s just little things that switch your brain from one mode to the next. Good luck charm.
